as we know it: We're Engaged!

5 years to the day as today is our anniversary, Chris and I are finally engaged. We are still working on the details, but for now this is what "the plan" is:

- Getting engaged (done)

- Setting a date ... we're thinking August 2008?

- Buying stuff like a dress, flowers, you know... soon?

- Picking a place to get married ... we're thinking Las Vegas (those of you know who you are - are invited, only immediate family and close friends)

- Picking a place to have a less formal party AFTER the ceremony back in Seattle

So obviously the ceremony and the reception are two separate things in two totally separate locations and on two totally separate dates. There you go.

How did we get engaged? We had been talking about it for months now, so it wasn't a total surprise; we were inspired by Johanna and Mark's rings and we picked out a mokume gane style. As today is our 5 year anniversary of dating, we went out to I Love Sushi, came home and he popped the ring and the question. I had a feeling that today would be the day so I didn't burst out into tears or scream like a banshee, but it is still pretty cool. Neat huh?
