Why am I at work today??? Oh, for the ice cream...
Today is a ghost-town at work. A lot of people who hadn't already taken this entire week off as vacation decided to take today and probably Monday off. I love holidays and since we Americans only have one official US Federal holiday during the peak-time of Summer -- the 4th of July -- I guess a lot of vacation time is scheduled around the 4th.
I'm one of the few who came into the office. Granted I'm wearing walking shorts, a tank top and a hawaiian shirt, but still I'm here gosh darn it! Shawn and I have agreed that if we are still here around 2pm today that we'll need to go for an ice cream run. So is it a Cookies n' Cream day? Chocolate-chip cookie dough? Maybe just good old fashioned Rocky Road...
Ok, must get mind out of the ice cream mentality for now. I am studying for the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) 2003 Certification. Last year I successfully took and passed Outlook and PowerPoint (I know, such a challenge.....) and this year I will be taking Word and Excel. Once that is done I guess I could be an over-achiever and take the Access exam as well. Might as well since who knows when Office 2007 will be out, right?
More follow-up questions from the pork chop recipe. No you don't need to flip the pork chops during cooking. The chops that are cut 1/2" to 3/4" work best. You may cook them longer, it depends on your doneness liking and also crispiness factor. How do I dress the chops? Oy, does it matter? Apparently. :) So, once the chops are done I personally like gravy on mine and then I have the plum sauce on the side, so yes--gravy and plum sauce. It isn't that much different than having pork chops with applesauce, right?
This year for the 4th is the same as usual for me. My Dad will be cooking a lot of food and it will be followed up with fireworks. I hope you all have grand plans!
