A little bit of work, a little more vacation

Although I'm going back to work for 3 days until our trip to Arizona, it sure doesn't feel like work (right now that is, I'm sure I'll feel differently tomorrow when I actually return physically to the office) that is coming up. Vacation at Marrowstone was a lot of fun--very relaxing and nice to get away. Above is the chair that I spent a majority of my week in. I re-read a bunch of Harry Potter books, read some HR magazines, and a few other miscellaneous things including newspapers, pamphlets, etc. Basically I was grateful for the lack of internet and computers. The house did have a telephone which rang a couple of times (asking for the owners) and after the second call, we unplugged the phone.

I think the weather gods knew it was our vacation because we got there on Saturday and it stopped raining. The weather all week was sunny and clear and almost hot if you can believe it (at some points, not like Las Vegas hot). The morning that we left--it started to rain again. Coincidence? During the week we read and took a lot of naps. Ventured to Port Townsend one day, another we went to Port Ludlow (ok, drove through Port Ludlow since it is about as large as 2 Seattle city blocks), did some minor grocery shopping for items, magazines, etc. I ended up making some cookies. The house had a Weber kettle charcoal grill so we cooked on that every night. All in all--a very nice time.

On our way home we decided to take the Bainbridge Island Ferry back to Seattle--we stopped at the Central Market in Poulsbo and let me tell you--that store has everything. If we ever lived on "the other side" of the Sound, I would so shop there all the time. We got these ginormous sandwiches called Primateri's or something like that--basically, big slices of grilled bread, about 1 lb of grilled thinly sliced corned beef, cheese, french fries, and coleslaw--all put together. I think I ate about half of it before wanting to curl up and take a nap. We were only on the ferry though--so I had to stay awake to drive home. We happened to be on the ferry that was docking during the height of the Maritime Festival--so there were about 1000 people down by the docks and having a good time.

We got home yesterday (Saturday) and did usual stuff, cleaning, etc. And today--yeah so far, I am still in my pajamas and it is 1015pm. :) Good times! I was kind of worried though earlier since I rarely get headaches and I got this horrible one--I had to lay down for a couple hours. I hope that I don't get any more headaches from work! :) More vacation coming soon--Arizona!
