Post Christmas fun and excitement from January. I hung out with Johanna and Mark, Heather, threw a welcome luncheon/party for Kate and her new baby, and made some red velvet cake.

...a big edible fruit basket. This was a total surprise but a lot of fun to receive. Everything was edible except for the vase and the skewers.

While Seattle was facing the first rain storms of the Fall, Chris and I spent a week in Kihei, Maui -- HAWAII! His family was kind enough to invite us to join them. We stayed mainly in Kihei, but visited Wailea and Lahaina quite a bit.

For my 30th Birthday, Chris took me on a weekend getaway to our favorite Bed & Breakfast -- Domaine Madeleine. Jeri (the B&B owner) is very nice and the B&B is fabulous. This time we got to stay in the elusive Ming Suite!

We took off for Yellowstone, the drive is long....stop by The Derby steakhouse if you are ever in Butte, MT. This album will be the slowest one for me to update -- Chris took a LOT of pictures. I'll try to do them justice.

After our week in Marrowstone, I went back to work long enough to catch up on emails and then turn around and fly out to Tuscon, AZ. We went for an anesthesiologist meeting and stayed at the Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort. VERY swank.

Because we knew ahead of time that we were going to spend most of our Christmas in Yakima, Christmas celebrations ended up being a 4 day extravaganza this year. On Friday, Dec. 22nd it was Christmas with my parents; then Dec. 23-25 was in Yakima--driving back to Seattle on the 25th to then go to Fall City and celebrate more Christmas! Whew.
